5 Treatments to Refresh Your Skin This Summer

Summer is the season for renewal and rejuvenation, and your skin shouldn’t be an exception. You can easily freshen up your look with skin treatments that don’t require you to go under the knife. Put your best face forward this summer with the following cosmetic procedures:

1. Botox

Botox® injections provide a quick and effective way to rejuvenate and refresh your appearance. 2. Fillers

Dermal fillers can provide some of the same results as Botox. They can smooth out unwanted lines or wrinkles, but they also do something Botox cannot — add volume. Made from gel-like substances, dermal fillers “fill” in wrinkles to restore facial fullness that has depleted with age. Fillers help enhance facial features like the lips, nose, cheeks, and chin. They also refresh the eye area by improving bags and discoloration under the eyes.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the active ingredient in most dermal fillers used today. HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body responsible for retaining moisture and giving the skin its plump appearance. Examples of HA fillers we offer at our Laguna Beach, CA, office are Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and RHA®.

Fillers like Sculptra® and Radiesse® work as collagen stimulators. When injected, they stimulate the skin’s natural regenerative process and result in more collagen, one of the skin’s essential building blocks. These fillers work subtly and gradually over time to reduce facial lines and creases and enhance facial contours while providing long-lasting results.

Like Botox, dermal filler injections are a quick and very tolerable procedure. We use very fine needles or blunt-tipped cannulas, and most fillers contain the anesthetic lidocaine to minimize pain during treatment.

3. Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser skin resurfacing is designed to remove damaged skin and reveal fresh, healthy skin layers underneath. We use the UltraPulse® Fractional CO2 laser to remove the outermost layer of your skin without damaging the surrounding tissue. In addition to resurfacing the skin, the laser stimulates collagen production.

By generating new collagen, laser skin resurfacing can produce lasting anti-aging benefits after your initial treatment.
