Header

The doctors and staff of Coast Dermatology and Laser Surgery Center are here to meet the needs of all of our patients, but as the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve at such a rapid pace, and due to the recent California Governor Newsom's stay-at-home order, we are temporarily cancelling ALL NON-ESSENTIAL visits, including all cosmetic treatments and consultations, starting immediately.

We will remain open with a very reduced staff only for emergency patients and are always available via phone or email for any urgent issues or follow-up questions. We are also available to ship any skincare products you may need to purchase.

We are currently offering telemedicine (virtual) visits. To schedule a visit, please call our office at (949) 301-8019.

We urge everyone to follow all recommended guidelines and practice social isolation to improve the present situation. This is a great 'Flatten the Curve' video that we wanted to share: Click Here

Yours in good health,
Dr. Glenn I. Goldberg, Dr. Bobby Awadalla & Staff

Rosacea

What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder that affects over 16 million Americans. The symptoms can become increasingly severe if left untreated and can include:

  • Redness on the forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin
  • Small blood vessels visible on the face
  • Pimples or small bumps on the face
  • Eyes that are watery or irritated
  • Reddened eyelids
  • Thickened skin on the nose

The symptoms of rosacea can flare for weeks or months at a time before diminishing. There are triggers that can exacerbate the symptoms of rosacea by increasing the blood flow to the surface of the skin. These factors may include:

  • Hot foods or drinks
  • Spicy foods
  • Exposure to sun
  • Alcohol
  • Extreme temperatures
  • Stress, anger, or embarrassment
  • Intense physical exercise

Rosacea Treatment

Although the causes of Rosacea are not completely understood, we can treat effectively. During a consultation with Dr. Glenn Goldberg at our Laguna Beach office, all of your treatment options will be discussed with you in depth. For most patients, rosacea can be treated with a combination of topical and oral medications and AFT pulsed light laser treatments.

Dr. Glenn Goldberg will review your medical history and evaluate your individual rosacea symptoms. He will ask you questions about when your symptoms began, how often you experience symptoms, whether your symptoms are chronic, what triggers cause or aggravate your symptoms, and if there is anything that improves your symptoms. From this information, a detailed treatment plan will be created by our team in Laguna Beach to address your specific symptoms.
